It just occurred to me that US and UK folks probably can't tell when an Irish actor is doing an American or British accent. Almost always, that definitely doesn't work the other way. If you want an Irish accent in your production, the safest choice will always be an Irish actor. There are plenty to about!

But if you _can't_ just get Tom Cruise, Julia Roberts, or, in a pinch, Brad Pitt?

Get them and try them for crimes against the Irish accent. Except maybe Brad Pitt. Nobody seems to be able to make up their mind about his portrayal 😂

Yeah, Pitt just unnecessarily turned it up to 11 every now and again.

He did follow the golden rule of attempting an Irish accent: pick one regional accent rather than trying to do "Irish". The girl in AKOTSK was going all over the map in her attempt.
